Everyone needs to do their part to make their neighbourhood a clean, safe place. Whatever your concerns about your community, including safety, cleanliness or just property value, it is important to do your part.
By working with other residents or families in your neighbourhood, you are empowering yourself to change the course of events. This is one of the major benefits of promoting a strong sense of community.
In many ways, residents can work together to improve their neighbourhood by organizing neighbourhood watch groups, for example, or implementing development projects. This type of community involvement often produces significant and lasting changes.
Some people choose to participate in community projects or volunteer in a local non-profit organization. Others are satisfied with being good neighbours and are always willing to help. However you decide to participate, remember that you have the power to change things.
Find ways to participate in neighbourhood activities and start doing your part to improve the area you live in.
